The 2016 Community Shield will take place a week before the 2016/17 Premier League kick-offs. In this year's fixture, Premier League champions Leicester City will face FA Cup winners Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday (7 August).

United won the FA Cup under the guidance of Louis van Gaal, who was sacked from his post as their manager just days after guiding them to the triumph. The Dutchman was replaced by Jose Mourinho in May, who took charge at Old Trafford in July.

The 20-time English champions have added three new faces to the squad in the likes of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the summer transfer window. The Foxes have also made some signings, but they have lost N'Golo Kante as the France international to Chelsea.

Mourinho will be looking to win his first piece of silverware as the Red Devils manager when his side take on Leicester. However, he will be aware that the English champions will provide tough competition on Sunday.
