Manchester City remained firmly on top of the Premier League table with a two-point cushion over bitter rivals and neighbours Manchester United.
Roberto Mancini's team bagged a decisive 3-0 win over Stoke City at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. Sergio Aguero scored the opener on 29 minutes, and Adam Johnson added to the tally seven minutes later. Both the goals resulted from sloppy errors of Stoke defenders.
Aguero struck again on 54 minutes, giving City a solid, defendable edge. An unmarked Aguero comfortably tapped home Samir Nasri's low cross from five yards. The Argentine striker's Premier League tally of the season now stands at 13.
