Surveillance footage showing NBA YoungBoy fighting a fellow inmate inside a Louisiana correctional facility has surfaced online, five years after the incident, alongside an investigative report in which one inmate said he was afraid of the rapper and another described him as a bully.

The previously unreleased video shows the recording artist, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, involved in a physical altercation inside the General Holding area at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on 3 August 2021. Gaulden was 21 at the time, while the other inmate was 43.

According to an investigative report displayed alongside the footage and attributed to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, tensions had developed between Gaulden and other inmates in the dorm before the confrontation.

The video's description, the investigative report describes him as a dominant presence in the dorm, while one inmate described him as a 'bully', with the 43-year-old inmate telling investigators that he was scared of the rapper.

Report Details Alleged Bullying Inside Dorm

The investigative report says Gaulden allegedly controlled the television remote in the shared housing area, including muting programmes other inmates were watching. It also states that he played audio loudly while other prisoners were trying to sleep.

According to the report, the 43-year-old inmate told investigators that he was scared of Gaulden and alleged that the rapper had threatened to have his family 'touched'. A second inmate separately alleged that Gaulden had said he had money and could 'touch' that inmate's family.

The alleged behaviour and statements were recorded in the sheriff's office investigation but have not been independently established. The newly surfaced footage does not capture the conversations or alleged threats described by the inmates.

The inmate has not been publicly identified in the material reviewed, and the report does not indicate whether Gaulden faced any separate charge over the alleged intimidation.

Surveillance Footage Shows Physical Fight

The footage shows Gaulden seated at a table, playing cards and watching television when the 43-year-old inmate approaches him. A physical confrontation then begins between the two men.

Correctional officers enter the housing area and attempt to separate them. The struggle briefly resumes before another officer intervenes and the older inmate is removed from the dorm. The footage also shows Gaulden interacting with correctional staff and other inmates after the confrontation.

The video provides visual evidence that a physical fight took place, but it does not show what was said beforehand or explain what prompted the confrontation. Those details come from the investigative report and statements recorded by investigators.

The footage has since circulated on social media, where users have debated the confrontation and its circumstances. Those reactions do not independently establish what happened before the fight.

Gaulden Was Held on Federal Firearms Charges

At the time of the incident, Gaulden was being held at a St. Martin Parish facility on a federal hold in connection with firearms charges stemming from a September 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge. He had been taken into custody in Los Angeles in March 2021 on a federal warrant.

Gaulden was released from custody on 26 October 2021 and placed under house arrest while his cases continued.

The newly surfaced footage provides visual evidence of the physical confrontation, while the separate claims about intimidation and threats remain allegations recorded in the sheriff's office investigative report.
