Overview

Djokovic started the defence of his Wimbledon title beating James Ward 6-0, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round. The Serb eased past the 29-year-old, winning 22 points more than his opponent.

The world number one has this brilliant strategy of holding back his full range of stroke play until the later stages of the tournament, and with that working very successfully for him, there is no doubt that he is the favourite not only to win this game but also the title for a third consecutive time.

France's Mannarino is a player capable of inflicting damage especially on grass surfaces and comes into this clash after beating Kyle Edmund 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round.

The 27-year-old will be celebrating his birthday on Wednesday and will be happy to know that the last man to face Djokovic on his birthday - Andy Murray actually walked away with a win. This, though looks unlikely with Djokovic playing a level of tennis rarely seen at present.
