Sir Patrick Stewart has tied the knot with his girlfriend, jazz singer Sunny Ozell. The wedding was officiated by his close friend, Sir Ian McKellen.
The 73-year-old Star Trek actor and Ozell have been together for five years after meeting at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music while he was performing Macbeth.
"Sir Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell were married on Saturday afternoon, September 7, beside Lake Tahoe in front of approximately 100 guests, including family and friends," his spokesperson told E! News, "The bride wore a white French lace dress by English designer Temperley London."
The British star announced the news on Twitter, along with a picture of the couple in colourful ball pit with the caption: "Yes, married."
The Lord Of The Rings star also posted a picture of himself holding his Doctor of Divinity certificate and a black t-shirt which says Minister on his Facebook page.
"I played my part," he wrote, attaching to Sir Patrick's Twitter announcement.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show earlier this year, Sir Ian had revealed he will officiate the ceremony.
"I am going to marry Patrick. I am going to officiate at his wedding," he said.
When asked if he was legally qualified to perform the couple's nuptials, he responded: "In Massachusetts-we're in the middle of America somewhere-you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife."
Sir Patrick was previously married to Sheila Falconer but the couple split in 1990 after 24 years of marriage. They have two children together, Daniel and Sophia. He later married producer Wendy Neuss in 2000 but ended their relationship in 2003.
