BloodHound Q50's mother has warned online trolls they will now have to 'fear his mother' after the Chicago rapper was reportedly killed in a gas-station ambush involving more than 50 shots.

Chicago police confirmed that a 22-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday, 13 September. It was reported that the victim was BloodHound Q50, whose real name was Mikquale Cooper, although authorities had not officially confirmed his identity at the time of reporting.

The shooting happened at about 3:58am at a BP gas station in Chicago's Fuller Park neighbourhood, according to a preliminary police account. The location was identified as 4248 South Wentworth Avenue.

The victim was reportedly sitting in a vehicle when two vehicles pulled alongside him. Six gunmen opened fire, with more than 50 rounds fired during the ambush. The suspects then fled the scene.

The 22-year-old victim suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. Chicago Fire Department personnel treated him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
