Portugal will face Germany in the Rio 2016 Olympics's Men's football first quarter-final clash at Mané Garrincha Stadium 13 August, Saturday.

The Euro 2016 winners made it to the last eight of the event after managing to win the first two matches and settling for a draw against Algeria in the last match. They managed to beat Argentina 2-0 in the opening match, followed by 2-1 win over Honduras. Argentina have been knocked out of the group stages.

They are in a firm position to achieve another success in football in less than two months after beating France in the European championship final. Portugal will be looking to beat Germany in order to seal a berth in the semi-final of the Men's football event in Brazil.

Germany, on the other hand progressed to the quarter-final after finishing second in Group C. South Korea finished ahead of them and the two nations were separated by two points. After their failure to make it to the Euro 2016 final, the world champions will be targeting gold in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
