Struggling Rising Pune Supergiants take on an in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 40 of the 2016 edition of the India Premier League on 10 May. The MS Dhoni-led side have failed to make an impression in the tournament, losing seven and winning just three games so far.

Despite being a new franchise and playing their first season in IPL, Pune have a number of experienced professionals in their ranks and are led by the most successful captain in the league's history — MS Dhoni. However, injuries to key foreign players — Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis and Steve Smith — and their present players not performing to potential have affected their game.

Apart from Ajinkya Rahane, who has played impressively, the Supergiants have some serious issues to look into particularly regarding team composition. They need to win all their games to stay in contention for a place in the knock-out stage.

The surprise package of the season Sunrisers Hyderabad, have impressed everybody with their performances so far. Skipper David Warner, in particular, has led both with the bat and on the field and has given a good account of himself in terms of captaincy.

The best bowling attack in the league, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Barinder Sran and the excellent Mustafizur Rahman have strangled the opposition, which has helped the skipper, who knows that his bowlers are capable of defending small targets, a trait which is essential if one has to win the league.
