Federer made it to the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships after defeating Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals on Friday. The World No 8 defeated the Serbian in a three-set thriller to seal a place in the finals.

The 32-year-old lost the first set 6-3 to Djokovic. However, Federer bounced back in the second set and won it 6-3. The game went into the final and deciding set as the former World No 1 did not face much trouble in the third set, winning the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Federer has already won the competition five times and has the most number of wins in Dubai. He will be looking to extend the run when he takes on Berdych on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Czech Republican sealed a place in the final to face Federer by defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber in the semi-finals. Berdych won the match in two sets, but he was forced to work hard to earn his win as it ended with 7-5, 7-5.

The World No 6 has never won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and would be looking to register his first silverware by defeating Federer in the final.
