Samsung's Galaxy S3 has made a splash because of its special features. Ever since the Galaxy S3 was released, the device has gained worldwide popularity. Now, the Galaxy S3 is expected to come in more colours apart from pebble blue and marble white. AT&T has begun accepting pre-orders for an exclusive garnet red variant of Galaxy S3. "With an exclusive red colour this summer and the power of the nation's largest 4G network, AT&T delivers the best wireless experience for Galaxy S III fans," said Jeff Bradley, Senior Vice President, Devices, AT&T Mobility, according to earlier reports in IBTimes UK.

It is unclear whether customers in the UK would get garnet red handsets. The Korean giant has hinted to Pocket-lint that the Galaxy S3 will be available in more colours. "We will be announcing potential colour variants in due course," said a Samsung UK spokesperson according to Pocket-lint. The site speculates that the Korean giant would come up with gemstone-based shades such as emerald green, azurite orange and cubic zircona clear.

Samsung's Strategy

Samsung has become the clear leader in the Android smartphones market in the first quarter of 2012. It notched up sales of 86.6 million mobile phones, a 25.9 per cent increase from the sales of the first quarter in 2011. The company has introduced budget-friendly smartphones such as Galaxy Y and Galaxy Pocket. The Galaxy S2 has been the company's best seller, generating 20 million sales in the first 12 months.

"While Apple has a simple product line-up for the iPhone and iPad, Samsung has bombarded the market with varieties of the Galaxy, the Wave phone, which uses Samsung's own 'bada' platform, and most recently with a phone-tablet," explains NDTV Profit. The Galaxy S3 is likely to be a tough competitor to Apple's next-generation iPhone.
