Selena Gomez discussed her relationship status during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in New York City to promote her new movie Spring Breakers.

The 20-year-old former Disney star looked gorgeous in a black Emilio Pucci dress and combined it with a Dolce & Gabbana jacket and Brian Atwood shoes. She opened up for the first time about her split from Canadian singer Justin Bieber and joked that she did make the 19-year-old cry.

"Last time you were here, you were with a Justin Bieber," Letterman said, "That's not going on now."

"No, I'm single," Gomez replied, "I'm so good."

"Now, the last time he was on, he and I got into a conversation and he said something and I said something, and then he said something and I said something, and I made him cry," Letterman recalled.

"Well then, that makes two of us," Gomez joked.

Gomez's' quick wit garnered laughter from the audience and Letterman gave her a fist-bump.

"Selena" has been trending on Twitter and Bieber fans expressed their anger on her comments.

"@rockinkidrauhl_ wow selena you are just the PERFECT role model sitting there LAUGHING about making someone CRY.... wow."

"@ManuelaDayennex i know selena since the start of her career and i like her acting and music but c'mon there was no need to bash a sweet boy like justin???"
