Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions, two teams who have impressed in the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League, face off in the 34th match of the tournament on May 6 (Friday). The David Warner-lead side has won four games so far and is currently ranked fifth on the points table.

The Hyderabad outfit has gradually come into its own as the tournament progressed. However, the onus is still on Warner to give them the impetus at the start of the innings. If the Australian falls early, then the team tends to struggle to put on challenging scores. However, the return of Kane Williamson has lent some stability to the batting order.

Bowling is their strongest suit and if the batsmen can put up a decent total, they stand a chance of winning, especially with Mustafizur Rahman and co being in prime form.

The Gujarat team, a new entrant to the league this year, has performed admirably with it batting hammering away the opposition. In Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith, Aaron Finch and Suresh Raina they have a batting line-up that is as dangerous as the much feted Bangalore side.

Their bowlers, after a strong start to the tournament, have started underperforming. Ravindra Jadeja, in particular, has been disappointing, especially considering that the surfaces in India suit his type of bowling. A win here will take them to the top of the table and unless something goes wrong in the second half of the tournament, Gujarat should be confident of making it to the play-offs.
