Country songbird Taylor Swift has revealed that she ended her relationship with Harry Styles because she could not trust him.

The 23-year-old star said that the One Direction heartthrob's flirtatious behaviour with other women made her increasingly insecure during their two-month romance.

After publicly mocking him at the Grammy Awards in February, Swift finally dishes the dirt on her failed relationship with Styles in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

She insisted that when they first started dating "[Harry] was all, 'You're amazing - I want to be with you. I want to do this," but his roaming eye soon caused problems.

It had been reported that the We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together hitmaker had given Styles his marching orders during a big fight in the Virgin Islands in early January, but she said things were rocky before then.

Things first turned sour after she found out that he kissed another girl in the early stages of their romance.

Even when she gave him a second chance, she "felt like he was looking at every girl", she said.

She claimed that during a visit to London he "disappeared one night and after that it was like he just didn't want to keep going". The pair broke up for good in January.

Swift also hit out at critics who gave her negative press for using her love life for material.

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," she said.
