Teen Choice Awards 2013 : One Direction's Harry Styles Twerks Like Miley Cyrus [VIDEO]

One Direction star Harry Style sent fans into a frenzy after he started twerking at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.

The 19-year-old singer broke into the impromptu booty-shaking dance after he was encouraged by the hosts of the ceremony, Lucy Hale and Darren Criss, to dance like nobody was watching.

Styles decided to try his hand at doing the twerk - a dance move which involves moving the hips up and down - when given his moment in the spotlight.

He appeared to steal his moves from former Disney child star Miley Cyrus, who has been twerking up a storm in recent months since she uploaded a clip of her shaking what her mama gave her in a sexy facebook video in March.

The star-studded crowd at the event, which included his pals, as Ed Sheeran, and bandmate Zayn Malik, broke out into fits of laughter his performance.

Within minutes #HarryDroppedThatThunThunThun began trending on twitter and hundreds of GIFs and videos of the moment appeared online.

One fan said: "We will remember that one time where harry styles twerked aka made a fool of himself on national television, forever! Haha"

Despite causing a Twitter meltdown, a clearly embarrassed Styles later told his 15 million followers on Twitter: "Note to self, don't 'twerk'."

It was busy night for the star and his One Direction bandmates who opened the star-studded bash with a performance of newest single Best Song Ever before scooping four different gongs including Best Music Group and Best Love Song.

Styles was also a solo winner by taking home the Top Hottie and Best Smile gongs.
