Arsenal have allowed their midfielder Jack Wilshere to join AFC Bournemouth on loan on the deadline day of the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries, due to which he has made only one start in the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.

The Gunners have strengthened their squad by adding Swiss international Granit Xhaka in the midfield. His arrival and also the return of Santi Cazorla from injury have given Arsene Wenger more options in the centre of the pitch.

Wenger has several options in the likes of Xhaka, Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny. It would have been difficult for the England international to break into the first team and that has seen the north London club's manager allowing Wilshere to leave the club on loan.

The 24-year-old will be playing under Eddie Howe at Dean Court and he will be looking forward to getting regular playing time so that he can break into Arsenal's starting lineup once he returns to the Emirates.

IBTimes UK have collated some of the best Twitter reactions following Wilshere's loan switch to AFC Bournemouth.

Hope #AFCB loan works out for Wilshere. Career has stalled for far too long, but no other English player has excited me so much since Rooney

Imagine if Jack Wilshere hadn't played well once against Barcelona. He'd be at somewhere like Bournemouth by now.

Just imagine a Wilshere medical: "Well Jack you don't seem to have any functioning body parts."

"Yeah but guess what I think of Tottenham"

The main reason why I rate Wilshere highly is because he's one of the few players at Arsenal that has balls. pic.twitter.com/GfvFiJ0nOF
