The draw for the next round of the 2015-16 Europa League provided no shortage of entertaining fixtures, with the pick of the ties involving a potentially explosive encounter between Manchester United and fierce local rivals Liverpool. The Premier League duo, who have met twice already this term with Louis van Gaal's side emerging victorious on both occasions, booked their places in the last 16 thanks to respective aggregate wins over FC Midtjylland and Augsburg.

The first leg will take place at Anfield on 10 March, with the teams reconvening at Old Trafford seven days later. Title contenders Tottenham's reward for dispatching Fiorentina, meanwhile, is a tricky test against cup favourites Borussia Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel's men currently trail leaders Bayern Munich by eight points in the Bundesliga and secured their own progress courtesy of consecutive victories against Porto.

Elsewhere, FC Basel stand in the way of holders Sevilla's quest to land a third successive Europa League title. The Swiss champions have extra incentive to reach the final as it is being played at their St. Jakob-Park home in May.

A lack of restrictions regarding countries in the knockout stages has also led to an All-Spanish affair between Valencia and Athletic Club. The former, managed by Gary Neville, recently broke the record for the biggest ever Europa League aggregate win with a 10-0 thrashing of Rapid Vienna.
