US rapper Ludacris has reportedly taken a leaf out of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade's book by fathering a child with a woman other than his fiancé.

According to TMZ, the Fast and Furious star was a little reckless during a brief break with his long-term partner Eudoxie and got a woman named Tamika Fuller pregnant.

The hip-hop star-turned actor, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, is said to have welcomed a baby girl called Cai Bella Bridges on 9 December.

TMZ reports that Luda has already taken legal steps to ensure that he does not have to fork out tens of thousands of dollars in monthly child support payments.

Although his estimated net worth is $12 million, the Roll Out hitmaker claims that he is 'only' making $25,842.41 a month on average. This means that under Georgia state law he would only be required to pay $1,754.66 in child maintenance.

Ludacris is already father to Karma, 13, from a previous relationship.

He is the second high profile celeb to recently have news about a "love child" surface.

In December, basketball hero Wade admitted that he had impregnated a woman during a relationship hiatus from his fiancée, actress Gabrielle Union.

The couple first began dating in 2009 but temporarily split earlier this year due to their work schedules. They rekindled their relationship and he sealed their love with a marriage proposal.

"I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," Wade said.

"[T]his is something that my family knows and my now-fiancee worked through when we got back together, and understood that we wanted to continue our lives together and continue supporting our family and we're going to do that."
