Wimbledon Day 1 - Order of play

Number one seed Rafael Nadal will begin the defence of his Wimbledon title against American Michael Russell at one o'clock this afternoon. The world number one has been drawn in the opposite half of the draw to Roger Federer, increasing the likelihood of another final between the great rivals.

The women's singles match between Italian sixth seed Francesca Schiavone and Australian Jelena Dokic follows before Britain's Andy Murray opens his Wimbledon campaign against Spain's Daniel Gimeno-Traver.

Elsewhere, last year's finalist Tomas Berdych plays Italian Filippo Volandri on Court No 1, while eighth seed Andy Roddick, a three-time finalist at Wimbledon, plays German Andreas Beck.

Britain's Katie O'Brien begins proceedings on Court Three against Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm, while on Court 12 an all-British contest sees Anne Keothavong take on Naomi Broady.

After a wet weekend, light rain is forecast for today but the Centre Court, with its retractable roof, guarantees play from 1300 BST.

Roger Federer, looking to win a record-equalling seventh title, begins his tournament on Tuesday against Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin; while second seed Novak Djokovic plays Frenchman Jeremy Chardy on the same day.
