Microsoft has confirmed that a File Manager app is coming to Windows Phone 8.1 users.

At the Build Developer Conference last month, Microsoft introduced the most anticipated Windows Phone operating system, Windows Phone 8.1, which comes with a number of features.

With customised Start Screen, Lock Screen Themes, Cortana personal digital assistant, Action Center that allows seeing notifications from any app, new Word Flow Keyboard and various other goodies, the latest Windows Phone 8.1 is smoother and faster than its predecessor.

But one of the features the Windows Phone 8.1 has missed out is File Manager.

Recently, Joe Belfiore, Microsoft's vice-president of Windows and User Experience through an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit confirmed that a File Manager app is coming for Windows Phone 8.1.

He mentioned that he is running a File Manager build in two of his phones. As for the release, the File Manager is expected to be in stores by this month-end. He has also shared a few screenshots suggesting how the File Manager apps will look like.

Below is Joe Belfiore's statement about the File Manager app for Windows Phone 8.1 on Reddit.
