A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a woman's body in Acton.

Following a police appeal Michael Meanza was arrested this afternoon (July 27) in Ealing and currently remains in custody.

The dead woman was believed to be a member of staff who helped vulnerable people at a hostel in Perryn Road in the area.

Officers were called to the premises at 6.40am following reports of an injured woman. The London Ambulance Service later pronounced her dead at the scene.

Meanza, previously known as Michael Condon, suffers from schizophrenia and was a resident at the hostel.
