Angel di Maria

Super agent Jorge Mendes, who lists Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo among his clients, is reportedly planning a huge summer double swap that will see Angel Di Maria joining Manchester United and World Cup sensation James Rodriguez replacing him at Real Madrid.

Di Maria's future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been under increasing scrutiny in recent times.

Even though Carlo Ancelotti considers him as an essential asset in his squad, the Argentinian international is unlikely to stay at the club – as he considers both the president and fans don't value him enough.

"I still don't know if I'll stay at Real Madrid. I'm happy, but we'll see what happens," he recently admitted.

Arsenal, Monaco, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are reportedly monitoring the situation and, with the Argentinian excelling in the World Cup, the interest of those clubs have even increased.

Nevertheless, El Confidencial reports that Manchester United are in pole position to secure his services.

The Spanish newspaper claims Mendes is already working on a good deal for every party – with the winger fulfilling his aims to leave La Liga by moving to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile the deal will see Real Madrid secure a lucrative amount of money to fund moves for Monaco star James Rodriguez, who is also represented by Mendes and is dreaming about making the move to the Champions League winners.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is reportedly open to accept €50m (£40m) to cash-in on Di Maria with just Ancelottiunhappy with the situation.

El Confidencial reminds that last year the Italian manager had accepted to part with Mesut Ozil even though he considered the current Arsenal star a key player for Real Madrid.

Having already secured the services of midfielder Ander Herrera and left-back Luke Shaw, Manchester United's new manager will reportedly welcome Di Maria as a perfect fit in his 4-3-3 formation with at least one wide man.
