New Liverpool signing Alberto Moreno has revealed Spanish trio Pepe Reina, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa advised him to move to Anfield.

The 22-year-old full-back became Brendan Rodgers' tenth signing of the summer after completing a reported £12m move to Merseyside on Saturday following weeks of negotiations with Sevilla.

The Spaniard hopes to follow the footsteps of Alonso, Luis Garcia and Reina in making a positive impact at Anfield.

Questioned whether he had spoken to any of the players about signing for Liverpool, Moreno said: "I spoke with Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina and Alvaro Arbeloa and they told me this is a spectacular club whose fans follow it in a very special way."

"They all told me I can grow a lot here as a footballer as this is a massive club," he said to Liverpool official website.

Moreno also revealed his friend Luis Alberto - a Reds player who is currently on loan at Malaga - convinced him to join Rodgers' side.

"He told me the same as Xabi, Pepe and Arbeloa did. This city has its own special way of following football and people are very respectful.

"They said it's incredible when you go out on to the pitch at Anfield as the fans are very supportive and they will always be behind me. They told me I'll feel very happy here."

Furthermore, Moreno expects Jose Enrique, Suso and new summer signing Javier Manquillo will help him adapt to life playing for the Premier League giants.

"They're going to be important. It's a different country and a different language for me but I'm hoping it'll be easier to settle here with their help," he said.

"Moreover, Suso and Manquillo are my teammates with the Spanish U21 team. I have a good relationship with them and that'll be good for us."
