Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed that he is raring to go against Liverpool after playing in his first pre-season game for the Gunners in a 3-2 win over Manchester City. The Gunners came back from going a goal down in the first half to score three on the bounce and ended their pre-season undefeated, with four wins and a draw.

Ramsey was among the best players in the recently concluded European Championships in France and was included in the Team of the Tournament for his one goal and four assists. However, he was suspended for their semi-final clash against Portugal which the Britons lost owing to goals by Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

Ramsey is back in the Arsenal mix following an extended break and completed 60 minutes against City before being taken off for Santi Cazorla. Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom scored the three goals for the Gunners but the victory was marred following an injury to Gabriel, which has all but ruled him out for the Gunners' opener against Liverpool on Sunday, 14 August.

"It felt good to come in and play the last game before the start of the season. It's good fitness for us and I felt good to get back out there again. I feel ready to go for Liverpool. It's always a tough test against them, especially after going a goal behind as well in a pre-season game, but we did well to come back and win the game," Ramsey told Arsenal's official website.

"This was preparation and a step in the right direction too. We'll benefit from that. We've got one week now to get the last bit out of us before it all kicks off again." On his performance in the Euros, he added, "It was an amazing time for me personally and also Welsh football. It was an amazing achievement by the boys and now hopefully I can carry my form into the new season."
