Martin Jol
Martin Jol is also believed to be monitoring Arsenal and Liverpool target Alexander Milosevic.

Eight clubs are currently monitoring the progress of Swedish defender Alexander Milosevic, with Fulham joining the race alongside Arsenal and Liverpool in monitoring the 21-year-old.

Milosevic has been a standout performer for AIK since moving from fellow Swedish side Vasalunds IF in 2011. The Reds have been tracking the Sweden international for the last two years as he continues to develop his skills. Sweden's manager has often given favourable reports on the youngster who recovered from a broken foot to get back into the mix for both domestic and international success.

Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the starlet and now Sky Sports and the Express claim that Fulham are also interested, swelling the number of clubs pursuing Milosevic to a total of eight as Tottenham, Celtic, AC Milan, Frankfurt and Fiorentina are also in the chase.

A versatile defender now, Milosevic began his career as a striker before moving into the midfield and then being convinced to become a centre-back all before the age of 18.

While Liverpool signed three defenders in the summer Brendan Rodgers is always on the lookout for talent that can produce in the future and he will be well aware that while Kolo Toure can offer experience, he can't offer a long-term solution to the loss of Jamie Carragher in the centre-back position.

But Fulham sent scouts to watch Milosevic in action this week and with the defender entering into the final year of his contract with AIK competition will be intense to get his signature.

Milosevic has been attracting interest from many sides since 2011 but seemed to take the growing speculation in his stride with his agent insisting that he would happily stay in Sweden to get to the point that when he made a big move it would be to a club that could promise regular football.

And as his improvement has continued it would appear the young star is spoiled for choice with clubs across Europe eager for his services.
