Real Madrid have reportedly set a price of £40m for Arsenal and Manchester United target Angel Di Maria, according to the Express.

The 26-year-old winger was outstanding with the Spanish capital club last season and played a starring role in their Champions League winning campaign.

The Argentine winger has been courted by the top European clubs and was subject of transfer speculation last summer after Gareth Bale's arrival at the Spanish capital. It was the Real boss who decided that he wanted to keep Di Maria at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, with both United and Arsenal looking to significantly strengthen their squads this summer, Di Maria's name has cropped up again. It is claimed that this time around, Real have set a price and anything over the £40m mark should be enough to prize the attacker away from the European champions.

Di Maria is aware of all the interest from other clubs, but did not want to elaborate on his future plans. He has left it in the hands of his current employers.

"I am not going to lie, I know that there are clubs that want to sign me and can match Real Madrid's demands, but that's up to my representatives and the club. I will stay if the club wants me to stay," Di Maria said.

"I am not thinking about my future now. We will see what Madrid have in mind, whether they want me to stay or leave," he added.

Meanwhile, the world's most expensive player Gareth Bale, who moved to Real last summer, has already made a place for himself in the club's 112-year history.

Bale became only the third player to score goals in both the Spanish Cup and the European cup finals in the same season. He is in illustrious company, with the other two players being Ferenc Puskas, who scored in two finals, and Raul.

However, the Welshman is the only one out of the three to go on and win both the finals, with his goals helping Real Madrid capture their first Spanish Cup-European Cup double.
