Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has predicted manager Arsene Wenger will make a couple of major signings during the summer transfer window as the Gunners are finally in a "position" to buy marquee players without needed to sell their best players.

The French boss was heavily scrutinised in recent years after the club let major names such as Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Patrick Vieira and Samir Nasri leave.

But Wenger has changed his tactics in the last two summer windows to bolster his squad with a number of new players, including Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid and Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, while also keeping his stars like Santi Cazorla and Ramsey.

Arsenal have won two back-to-back FA Cup titles while securing third place in the Premier League in the last campaign despite a poor start to the season.

And while Sky Sports claims the Gunners are on the verge of signing Petr Cech from Chelsea, Ramsey has hailed the arrivals of more marquee signings like Sanchez and Ozil in order to beat the Blues to the Premier League title.

"We can start the season on the front foot and with greater ambitions. We are going in the right direction. We have improved as a team defensively, and obviously we've shown we are able to create and score goals so it's just about getting that consistency throughout the season," Ramsey said to Bleacher Report.

"It's nice to have that sort of quality [like Sanchez and Ozil] coming into the squad. I think the club is in a position now where we can buy these sorts of players, and also keep our players as well. I am sure, like any season, there will be a couple more additions this summer.

"So, that, I think, is definitely going to help us in the long term in trying to win the Premier League."
