Overview

Chelsea travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday. It is a clash between two teams on the opposite end of the goal scoring charts. The league leaders have scored the most number of goals, whereas Villa have the fewest in the league.

Paul Lambert's men have failed to score in their last seven Premier League games and the manager will be hoping to change that stat when the title favourites visit. The Villans pulled off a shock 1-0 victory over Chelsea last season and the manager will hope for a repeat performance.

Meanwhile, Chelsea go into this match on the back of a good run that has seen them beat Liverpool to make the Capital One Cup final, and a hard fought 1-1 draw against title contenders Manchester City last week.

However, Jose Mourinho has never beaten Paul Lambert's team at Villa Park in his past five visits and will hope to change that this time around. The manager will again be without Diego Costa, who is serving the second of his three-match ban, but will have the services of top assist provider Cesc Fabregas, who has recovered from a muscle injury.

There will also be a considerable amount of attention on January signing Juan Cuadrado, who has trained with the first-team since his arrival on deadline day. The Colombian could come off the bench to make his debut for the west London club.

What Managers Say

Paul Lambert: "I was angry last week because our heads dropped but my players don't hide and that's a big quality," he said. I played with some great players who went into their shells when the crowd started criticising. I've seen great players crumble under pressure from the crowd. That's the last thing you want. You can't hide and you have to be a big guy to do that."

Jose Mourinho [on last year's defeat at Aston Villa]: "I learned nothing that I hadn't learned before that. There are matches that are impossible to win and you have to be smart enough to understand that. Afer so many years in football, there are matches that I clearly know it's impossible to win."
