Barcelona, Totteham Hotspur and Arsenal will heave a sigh of relief after Rennes attacker Ousmane Dembele confirmed that he had not agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich in the summer. Clubs all across Europe have been scouting the versatile forward following a string of impressive performances for the Ligue 1 club.

The 18-year-old striker, who has represented France at the U19 level, broke into the Rennes first-team this season and has lit up the French league while also helping his team fight for a European place. Dembele has scored 10 goals in 19 league appearances thus far, including six in his last seven appearances. The 18-year-old can play anywhere across the front three and also as an attacking midfielder, the position he was given when he scored a hat-trick against Nantes earlier in the month.

According to beIn Sport, the German had won the race for the attacker's signature ahead of the Catalan giants, but Dembele has dismissed the report, while stating that his main focus is on helping Rennes finish the season strongly. He is flattered by the interest from big clubs across Europe, but is determined to focus on performing on the pitch rather than the speculation off it.

"It's nice but after this, I still have three years here at Stade Rennais. I'm still in a period of growth. I discovered the Ligue 1. I think especially the field and not to what is happening around," Dembele told French publication RMC Sport.

"Yes, that I will decide my future. With my family. But I'm still at Stade Rennais. I think at the end of the season. I hope to finish in the top five."

"I did not sign anything at all, I had no appointment. This is a big club, they are one of the four best clubs in the world. But there are no discussions with Bayern," the French U19 international added, as quoted by The Sun.
