Batman: Arkham Knight
Batman in Rocksteady's first foray into next gen. Warner Bros

Batman: Arkham Knight will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 2 June 2015.

Warner Bros made the announcement earlier today, also revealing two collector's editions for the game - a Limited Edition and a Batmobile Edition.

The Limited Edition will include an art book, steelbook case for the game, a prequel comic book, an exclusive character skin pack and a Batman figure. It will cost £89.99 for the console versions and £74.99 for PC.

Meanwhile the Batmobile Edition boasts all the above, minus the Batman figure, and a Batmobile which the press releases says is "fully transformable". This console-exclusive version will retail for £169.99.

Arkham Knight was originally pencilled in for release this year but slipped into next alongside many other anticipated titles.

Rocksteady's Arkham series started in 2009 with Arkham Asylum and continued two years later with Arkham City. A prequel developed by Warner Bros Montreal - Arkham Origins - was released last year to fill the gap between Rocksteady's own fames. Arkham Knight is the first entry to feature the Batmobile as a playable vehicle.

At Gamescom we were lucky enough to get hands on time with the game, you can read our impressions here. We also spoke to developers Rocksteady Studios' Guy Perkins about the title.
