American pop singer Charlie Puth has invited a 75-year-old Filipina and her amputee husband to his upcoming concert in the Philippines after being moved by a viral video in which she tearfully described being separated from her children because she cannot afford the cost of flights.

Julie, who works by preparing food orders, became the focus of a viral encounter with content creator David. Her emotional account of struggling to support her household and missing her children resonated with viewers.

While the Grammy-nominated artist noticed her husband playing guitar in the background of the footage, Puth responded with an invitation that could allow the couple to see their family in the Philippines.

What began as a simple cooking challenge soon turned into a deeply personal conversation about family, financial hardship, and Julie's hopes of seeing her children again.

Puth responded to the TikTok with an invitation for the couple to attend his forthcoming Manila show.

'I noticed her husband was singing and playing guitar. Do they like music? I don't know if they know mine, but I have a show in the Philippines I would love for them to come. They can bring their family too,' he wrote.

Puth is scheduled to perform at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on 14 October 2026 as part of his 'Whatever's Clever!' World Tour. The Manila date is part of the tour supporting his fourth studio album, 'Whatever's Clever!', released in 27 March 2026.

It is not clear whether arrangements have been made for Julie, her husband, or their family to attend the concert.

Puth's comment, however, has prompted an outpouring of support from viewers who hope the invitation could allow the family to reunite.

Heartwarming Video Goes Viral

The interaction began when David, known online as @davidmunchies, approached Julie as part of a challenge offering strangers £100 ($135) to cook a meal for him.

Julie agreed to prepare the food and explained that she was 75 and remained the household's main earner because her husband is an amputee.

She later opened up about her children living in the Philippines and the financial difficulty of travelling to see them.

'Sometimes I'm crying because I miss them,' she said. 'The airplane ticket is so expensive. We miss them but only in the phone.'

Julie also described their small home and recalled losing possessions after a storm damaged the property. Despite the hardships, she spoke about her faith and expressed gratitude for the support she had received.

'I'm doing well because of God. He give me strength,' Julie said.

After enjoying the meal, David gave Julie the promised £100 ($135) and an additional £600 ($812), giving her a total of £700 (about $947)

The footage has since surpassed seven million views on TikTok, with commenters expressing sympathy for Julie and calling for further support, including potential crowdfunding. Others praised Puth for noticing the couple and extending the invitation.

The emotional response has been particularly strong among Filipino viewers and members of the Filipino diaspora, who have connected with Julie's account of being separated from loved ones by the cost of international travel.
