Norwich City

John Ruddy

An uncomfortable afternoon for the England goalkeeper who found the ball as slippery as a bar of soap. His handling was especially poor when challenged by Ba in the first half and should have done much better with Hazard's late goal. 4

Russell Martin

Was given a tough time by Schurrle when Chelsea were in the ascendancy but once Norwich fought back he was quick to push forward and provide some much needed width. 6

Michael Turner

His lack of pace was exposed as Chelsea looked to turn him at every opportunity by playing balls over the top. Was outmuscled by Ba throughout and had a torrid time against a determined striker looking to impress his manager. 5

Sebastian Bassong

Had an equally tough time against Ba as he struggled to complete with the strikers physicality and good movement. Did deny the Senegalese forward when covering well behind his keeper and was helpless to prevent the second or third. 5

Martin Olsson

Spent much of the second half playing like a left winger as he bombed forward and even found himself with an opportunity to grab a late second when the game was still 1-1 but he fluffed his shot when in a good central position. 6

Jonny Howson

Could have scored in the first half had his close range effort at the near post not cannoned into Petr Cech but struggled to see much of the ball as the game somewhat passed him by. 5

Alexander Tettey

Struggled in the first 45 minutes but began to see more of the ball in the second half as he looked to carry the ball and drive towards goal. Blazed one shot over the bar but made a dreadful mistake as his poor touch allowed Hazard to fire home a late second. 6

Leroy Fer

Showed an incredible engine as he covered just about every blade of grass and helped limit the influence of Lampard and Mata. 7

Robert Snodgrass

Tried to come into a more central position in order to see more of the ball but too often his delivery was poor from set pieces and he struggled to get past either Cole or Ivanovic. 6

Anthony Pilkington

Looked to support Van Wolfswinkel at every opportunity by making himself available and running the channels. Linked well with the Dutch striker and did well to read his knockdown and beat David Luiz to head past Cech. 7

Rickie van Wolfswinkel

Initially struggled with a lack of service but was a handful for Terry and Luiz when presented with the right service. Won a towering header to set up Pilkington for the equaliser. 6

Substitute: Gary Hooper came on for Van Wolfswinkel but found himself somewhat isolated and never had a chance to show what he can do. 5

Nathan Redmond looked like a livewire when he came on after 81 minutes and immediately committed defenders with his searing pace but Chelsea's two late goals saw him fail to see more of the ball. 6

Chelsea

Petr Cech

Made one very good stop to deny Jonny Howson at the near post and was powerless to prevent Pilkington heading home an equaliser. 7

Branislav Inanovic

A typically sold performance from the right back who was rarely troubled defensively and looked to try and get forward at every available opportunity. 7

David Luiz

A mixed performance from the Brazilian who tried to ignore his natural instinct to get forward but was caught on a couple of occasions high up the pitch. Was beaten in the air by Pilkington for the goal but did almost score from the halfway line when spotting John Ruddy off his line. 6

John Terry

A comfortable first half and when he did come under pressure in the second period was quick to snuff out attacks and take no chances by clearing his lines. Was well beaten in the air by Van Wolfswinkel who set up Norwich's equaliser. 7

Ashley Cole

Despite the Chelsea defence coming under pressure in the second half Cole remained calm throughout and never looked like being beaten. Supported Schurrle well at every available opportunity but worryingly departed with an injury. 7

Frank Lampard

Typically composed and in the first half was able to demonstrate his wonderful range of passing, consistentlt turning the Norwich defence. But in the second period his influence faded as the younger, energetic Norwich midfielders looked to run past him. 6

Ramires

A typically dynamic display from the industrious midfielder who was simply full of running throughout. Joined the attack whenever he could and made some vital tackles at the back but was fortunate not to concede a penalty when clumsily challenging Anthony Pilkington. 7

Oscar

Took his goal with some style as he effortlessly steered the ball past Ruddy after running onto the ball and hitting it first time with wonderful control. Took up some intelligent positions but he struggled to influence the game when Norwich started to press and boss the midfield area. 8

Juan Mata

A quiet game for the midfield maestro who struggled to get involved in the first half and found himself seeing very little of the ball in the second 45 before eventually being replaced by Willian with ten minutes remaining. 5

Andre Schurrle

Looked a threat when receiving the ball down the left and committing defenders in order to work the ball onto his favoured right foot. Can be a touch wild when shooting though as he too often failed to work the goalkeeper. 6

Demba Ba

Was clearly looking to make a statement as held up the play, made intelligent runs and bullied the Norwich centre backs. Did well to control a straight ball from Lampard and lay it off to Oscar for the first goal, had a first half effort well saved by Ruddy and almost found the net in the second 45 with a delicate flick that went narrowly wide. 8

Subsitute: Samuel Eto'o replaced Ba after 73 minutes with Norwich level but failed to make much of an impact as it was his fellow substitutes that grabbed the headlines. 5

Eden Hazard replaced the injured Ashley Cole after 75 minutes and brilliantly controlled a cross from Ivanovic but his effort was mishit and never troubled Ruddy. Grabbed a late second for Chelsea after latching onto a mistake from Tetley but Ruddy possibly should have done better. 8

Willian came on for Mata with 10 minutes remaining and with four minutes remaining he wrapped his left foot round the ball from the corner of the box and curled the ball into the top corner. A breath-taking goal. 8
