Chelsea are preparing a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi in the summer, according to the Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his attack and has earmarked the Argentine as a potential target. However, PSG are unwilling to sell, with two more years left in the player's contract and are ready to extend his stay at the club beyond 2016.

The French giants are looking to strengthen themselves for the next season with a record transfer of David Luiz from Chelsea.

Chelsea are close to securing a deal with Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa and are willing to add Lavezzi to the mix to strengthen their attack in the next season. The Portuguese manager failed to live up to the expectations on his return to Chelsea, where he has been unable to win any silverware, and will be looking to remedy that by bringing in more strikers to supplement a title challenge.

Meanwhile, Luiz has thanked Chelsea for supporting him during his three-and-a-half-year stay at the club. The Brazilian defender will now join Thiago Silva in the centre of defence for PSG as the French club look to perform better in Europe next season.

"Thanks Chelsea for the three-and-a-half years of great partnership," he wrote on Facebook.

"I've made good friends, won many titles and those memories will last with me forever.

"I'd like to thank my team-mates, all staff and all supporters (my geezers).

"I'm leaving with great sadness but at the same time excited for the new challenge that lies ahead in this great club in a city that have always enchanted me.

"It's a new stage, new challenge and together we will go even further," he concluded.
