Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda claims he may "play for Barcelona in the future" despite turning down an offer from the Catalans in the summer of 2012 to move to Stamford Bridge instead. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, meanwhile, has admitted that there "is a big chance" to prolong his current loan spell at Real Betis one more season as he is "very happy" in La Liga.

Musonda admitted his childhood passion for Barcelona encouraged him to learn Spanish when he was a kid with the hope of one day of having a chance to play for the Champions League winners. However, the Under 21 Belgium international surprisingly snubbed an opportunity four years ago in favour of a move to Chelsea. The teenager, as he previously revealed, visited the prestigious La Masia and even met then manager Pep Guardiola but opted to pass on his dream to move to West London instead because Chelsea agreed to sign his older brothers Tika and Lamisha.

When asked during an interview with AS whether he regrets choosing Chelsea ahead of Barcelona, Musonda said: "Maybe I play at Barcelona in the future [laughs]. I could do it, but then I chose Chelsea because of my family. In football you never know what will happen."

The Blues starlet, meanwhile, admitted that he would love to play alongside the likes of Neymar one day amid comparisons with the Barcelona ace since his January move to La Liga.

"I have read it [those comparisons]. I love watching him, he is fantastic. Maybe they say it because we both like to dribble, sometimes even too much. Look like Neymar would be a great honour for me. I wish I could play with him one day."

Musonda has become into one of the sensations in La Liga since his January arrival to Betis. The Belgium is yet to make his debut for the Chelsea first team but has made an instant impact at the Spanish outfit, helping to turnaround the fortunes of his side as they bid to avoid relegation following a poor first part of the campaign.

Canal Sur Radio claimed last week that Chelsea are ready to let him stay at the Andalucian side one more season in order to complete his development before returning to Chelsea. The report added that Musonda is also likely to prolong his spell at Betis while the completion of deal is only pending the decision of the next Blues manager Antonio Conte.

Musonda said: "Right now I do not know. We will see in summer. But there is a big chance that I will stay at Betis because I am very happy here and everything is going perfect. This is a great club, there's no doubt. Sometimes all a player needs is a chance to play. I was waiting for it, I wanted to show my football. Betis have been the perfect place.

"La Liga is one of the best championships in the world. Perhaps the most technical and here we have the best two teams in the world [in Barcelona and Real Madrid]."
