Barcelona vs Espanyol

Barcelona travel to the Cornella-El Prat on 13 January for the second leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 with a three-goal lead in the bag from the first leg.

Where to watch

Kick-off is set for 8pm GMT. The game is not scheduled for live broadcast in the UK.

Overview

Espanyol face a mountainous task to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after losing 4-1 to Barcelona in the first leg of the round of 16 last week. Constantin Galca's side are on a four-match winless run in all competitions but are unbeaten in their last seven games at the Cornella-El Prat.

Anaitz Arbilla, Jose Canas (both foot) and Victor Sanchez (thigh) are all sidelined through injury for the home side, while midfielders Pape Diop and Hernan Perez are suspended.

Barcelona swept aside Granada 4-0 at the weekend to stay two points behind La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid with a game in hand. The Catalan giants are on a 14-game unbeaten run against Espanyol in all competitions — a run that stretches back to 2009.

Luis Enrique has no fresh injury concerns. Forward Luis Suarez is banned for insulting Espanyol players in the tunnel during the first leg.

What managers say

Constantin Galca: "Everything that happens on the pitch, should stay there. I care about what happens on the field. Away from there, everyone is free to say whatever they want. It may be a good idea to have a meeting [between the clubs], I'm open, but you would have to ask Luis Enrique and [Barcelona]."

Luis Enrique: "I would like football to be the focus, but we will see what happens. The idea is to share the minutes out because there are players that have accumulated more than last season, for example. What I want is for everyone to be at their best level in the coming months."
