Horrified Family Speaks Out After Repeat Offender Allegedly Shoots Three Women in Fayetteville Crime Spree

The family of a young woman shot in the face during an attempted carjacking has spoken out after a convicted felon allegedly shot three women in a series of incidents in Fayetteville on Sunday morning.

Robert Page, 52, is currently held without bond in North Carolina following an alleged string of attacks that began with the suspected shooting of his girlfriend and ended with two separate shootings outside local businesses.

Leighanna Bullard, the sister of 24-year-old victim Izzy Dolan, revealed that her sibling was grabbing coffee before a work shift when the suspect demanded her vehicle in a grocery store parking lot.

Page faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Officers located and arrested him with assistance from witnesses and the Fayetteville Police Department's Crime Information Center.

Tracing the Sunday Morning Fayetteville Crime Spree

Deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a distress call on Messenger Street at 7.03am on Sunday. On arrival, deputies discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The suspect had already left the immediate area. Authorities have not yet made the medical condition of this first victim public. Nine minutes later, at 7.12am, Fayetteville Police Department received reports of an attempted carjacking and a shooting at a Hardee's parking lot on Ramsey Street.

Responding officers located a second female victim with gunshot wounds. Shortly after, another emergency call came from a Food Lion parking lot on McArthur Road detailing a similar attack.

It was at this final location where Dolan was targeted. According to Bullard, Page approached the 24-year-old in broad daylight and stated, 'I need this car.' Dolan initially laughed it off. Bullard told local reporters that the suspect then pushed her sister to the ground and shot her in the face.

Bystander Intervention

As Dolan lay wounded in the parking lot, the suspect allegedly attempted to go through her pockets to steal her personal belongings. A bystander, identified by the family as Derrick Hicks, approached and the suspect fled.

Hicks remained by the young woman's side and provided first aid until emergency medical services arrived at the scene. Bullard credited Hicks with helping save her sister's life, saying she struggled to believe that such an incident could occur at 7am to someone preparing for a regular work shift.

Dolan was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center alongside the victim from the Hardee's incident. Family members say Dolan will require extensive reconstructive surgery. One of the victims was later flown to a University of North Carolina medical facility for specialised care.

Suspect Arrested and Held Without Bond

Law enforcement officers used resources from Fayetteville Police Department's Crime Information Center to track the fleeing suspect. With the help of witness descriptions, officers located Page and took him into custody without further incident.

During his first two court appearances on Monday morning, a judge ordered Page to remain at Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

Alongside the attempted murder charges, court records state he faces counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is scheduled to appear in court again regarding additional pending charges.
