Céline Dion Stuns in 10-Carat Diamond Necklace for Emotional Comeback After Six-Year Hiatus

Céline Dion returned to the stage in Paris wearing a spectacular 10-carat diamond necklace as she delivered her first full concert in more than six years.

The Canadian singer opened her Paris concert series at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The performance marked a major milestone after years of health problems forced her to cancel tour dates and raised doubts about whether she would complete a full show again.

Dion became emotional while addressing the audience and thanked fans for supporting her throughout her absence. Although she made several shorter appearances during her hiatus, including at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, the Paris show was her first full-length concert since March 2020.

Dion complemented her custom black Dior gown with an elaborate necklace created by French jewellery house Boucheron.

The necklace featured a 10.01-carat emerald-cut diamond pendant on a white-gold structure decorated with pavé baguette diamonds and black lacquer. Its geometric design was inspired by a Boucheron archive design dating to 1939 and echoed the shape of Place Vendôme, the Paris square closely associated with luxury jewellery.

The piece reportedly required 1,107 hours of work to complete. Its combination of diamonds, white gold and black lacquer coordinated with Dion's sculptural gown, which featured pleated detailing and a dramatic peplum-style silhouette.

Dion's Courage World Tour was suspended in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further performances were postponed and eventually cancelled as she experienced persistent muscle spasms and other health problems.

In December 2022, Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause muscle stiffness and painful spasms. She explained that the condition affected her daily life and her ability to use her vocal cords as she had previously.

Dion returned briefly at the Paris Olympics in July 2024, performing 'Hymne à l'amour' from the Eiffel Tower. However, that single-song appearance was different from completing an entire concert programme.

The official schedule now lists 26 performances: 16 dates between 12 September and 17 October 2026, followed by 10 additional shows in May 2027.
