A Florida woman has allegedly chased a man with a knife and walking stick around a car park after he rejected her sexual advances.

Elizabeth Highley, 56, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault after she reportedly chased a 25-year-old man, Crue Finley, for "rejecting her sexual advances".

According to the New York Daily News, Highley was allegedly seen drinking wine with Finley in her Port St Lucie home last month, prior to the attempted seduction.

Sending Highley into a rage, she took hold of a hunting knife and cane and chased the man until he sought help from a deputy in a nearby shop.

Officer Paul Hutchinson was able to talk Highley into vanquishing her weapons and lying them down on the ground, before she was taken into custody.

Finley received a small laceration on his thumb from the knife but was otherwise unharmed. He told the deputy that he and Highley were not a couple.

Investigators reported that Highley "wanted to have sex," but he "rejected her sexual advances causing her to become angry and violent."

Hutchinson stated that Highley was "angry, crying and appeared to be intoxicated" when taken into custody.

Highley was released on $3,500 bail after being charged with felony aggravated assault.
