England's Roy Hodgson cut a disappointed figure while his Montenegro opposite Branko Brnovic was left ruing a poor first half after the teams drew 1-all in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

A spirited second-half comeback from Montenegro ensured the tiny Balkan country remains in charge of World Cup qualifying Group H.

Montenegro stayed top of the group with 14 points from six games, two more than Roy Hodgson's England who they must still face at Wembley.

"My overall feeling is disappointment because at half time things were looking good for us but in the end we had to settle for a draw," Hodgson said.

"I don't think it's a particularly bad result as such because Montenegro is difficult team to beat here. But on the other hand it would have been nice to have profited from our advantage from a half time, maybe build up on it and go away with a three points."
