Ireland will take on the United Arab Emirates in a Group B fixture of the 2015 ICC World Cup at Brisbane Cricket Ground, Brisbane, on Wednesday.

Ireland are high on confidence and come into this fixture after registering a victory over West Indies in the first group stages fixture of the tournament. Jason Holder's side posted a total of 304 runs for the loss of seven wickets from their 50 overs.

William Porterfield and Paul Stirling led Ireland's run chase before their skipper was dismissed for 23. It was Stirling (92) and Ed Joyce's (84) first wicket partnership, which was then followed by an unbeaten 79 from Nial O'Brien that helped Ireland seal a victory in their first game.

Meanwhile, UAE enter the second fixture in search of their first win in this edition of the World Cup. Mohammad Tauqir's side came close to sealing their first victory, only to be denied by Zimbabwe in the late stages of the match.

UEA posted a total of 285 runs and Zimbabwe managed to achieve the target with two overs to spare and winning the match by four wickets. Sean Williams' unbeaten 76 helped the African nation avoid a defeat in the early stages of the tournament.
