Who Is Jing Boran? 'The Early Spring' Star's Age, Career and Dating History
Jing Boran's rise from boy-band fame to major film and television roles

Chinese actor and singer Jing Boran is attracting fresh attention through his role in The Early Spring, the 2026 workplace romance starring opposite Sun Qian.
The 37-year-old plays Luan Nian, a demanding advertising creative director whose complicated relationship with Shang Zhi Tao forms the centre of the Netflix and Youku drama. As the series continues to gain international viewers, interest in Jing Boran's age, career and dating history has also grown.
Jing Boran's Age and How He Started His Career
Born on 19 April 1989 in Shenyang, Liaoning, Jing Boran first entered the entertainment industry through the 2007 Chinese talent competition My Hero, which he won.
The victory launched his career as a singer. He later formed the boy band BoBo with Fu Xinbo, enjoying a period of popularity before turning his attention to acting.
Jing's move into film and television quickly established him as a versatile performer. His film credits include Monster Hunt (2015), Time Raiders (2016), Us and Them (2018) and The Shadow Play (2019).
From 'Love O2O' to 'The Early Spring'
Jing continued to build his television career with roles in Love O2O, The Psychologist, Road Home, A League of Nobleman and Regeneration.
His latest project, The Early Spring, sees him return to contemporary romance. The 24-episode drama follows Shang Zhi Tao, played by Sun Qian, as she enters a Beijing advertising agency and comes under the demanding leadership of Luan Nian.
Their professional relationship eventually develops into a secret six-year romance before circumstances force them apart. Years later, the pair meet again and must decide whether their relationship deserves another chance.
The series premiered on Youku and Netflix on 26 August 2026 and continues to release episodes internationally.
Why 'The Early Spring' Is Getting Attention
Beyond its second-chance romance storyline, The Early Spring has generated discussion for its more mature approach to intimate scenes.
The production used an intimacy coordinator, with Jing and Sun Qian previously discussing how the coordinator helped choreograph romantic sequences and made filming such scenes more comfortable for the cast.

The drama was filmed primarily in Beijing in 2025 and has quickly become one of Jing's most closely watched international projects.
Jing Boran's Dating History: Ni Ni and Liu Wen
Despite his celebrity status, Jing has generally kept his personal life private.
His most clearly confirmed relationship was with actress Ni Ni. The pair began dating around 2016 after meeting through their work on Up in the Wind. They were photographed together several times but largely avoided discussing their relationship publicly.
In July 2018, both of their studios confirmed that they had ended their relationship amicably in May that year.
Jing has since been repeatedly linked to Chinese supermodel Liu Wen. The pair reportedly first met through a brand campaign and have been photographed together on numerous occasions since around 2019.
Their continued appearances together have fuelled years of relationship speculation, including unconfirmed reports that they may have registered their marriage. However, neither Jing nor Liu has formally confirmed their relationship in the way Jing's previous relationship with Ni Ni was acknowledged.
With The Early Spring still airing, Jing Boran continues to balance film, television, music, fashion and brand work.
The drama marks another step in his evolution from a talent-show winner and pop singer into an established leading actor, while its international release is giving his career a wider audience beyond China.
