Kindle Fire HD Gets UK Special Offer Price
The ad-free version costs you £10 more
British stores are all geared up to sell the Kindle Fire HD in less than a couple of weeks, while the market is already abuzz with news of its UK price and special offer deals.
Amazon's latest creation made waves across the US tablet market almost a year ago and the UK is eagerly awaiting its release.
The £159 Kindle Fire HD boasts a host of powerful features: stunning 720p display, Custom Dolby audio, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with PowerVR 3D graphics unit and infallible access to the Amazon library of downloadable content. All these features make the tablet a key contender among high-end Android giants like Samsung and Asus, amid the dominant presence of Apple's iPads.
In addition, the new tablet will be powered by the Texas Instruments OMAP 4470, which Amazon says will outperform the quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3. The Kindle Fire HD will ship with 16GB of in-built storage as standard, but a 32GB version is also on the cards. The tablets will come with what Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder, called the "fastest Wi-Fi" - which is thanks to dual antennas (5GHz and 2.4GHz).
According to The Android Soul, Amazon is offering the special price of £159 (for 16GB model) on some ad-based offer wherein ad pop-ups and notifications of special offers and deals pop-up every time your device enters lock-screen mode. The ad-free version costs you an additional £10. The original Kindle Fire will also launch in the UK priced at £129. It is available for pre-order now and starts shipping from 25 October.
