Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on a double swoop for Swansea City pair Wilfried Bony and Ben Davies.

The Daily Mail's report claims that the Reds are looking to surge ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who are also said to be keen on signing the pair.

The north London club's newly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding Bony and Davies' names on his roster. But the striker and the left-back's proposed switch to White Hart Lane appears to have stalled.

Liverpool are in the market for a left-back and are believed to be considering a move for Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez after talks with Sevilla for Alberto Moreno ended abruptly.

The Merseyside club are also in need of a striker courtesy of Luis Suarez's imminent departure to Barcelona. Brendan Rodgers looks to have set his sights on raiding his former employers once again in a bid to bolster his squad before the start of next season.

Bony has also been linked with Arsenal but the Ivory Coast international's signature will cost £20m according to his agent, Dalibor Lacina.

He has also claimed that the Ivorian will depart the Liberty stadium only for a top six club, thereby giving an invite to his potential suitors.

Liverpool have already signed three players in the ongoing transfer window in Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can. Earlier this week, Lille's Belgian youngster Divock Origi was spotted at the club's Melwood training ground for talks with the club's officials.

Various reports also claim Lazar Markovic of Benfica will arrive on Thursday for medicals after the Premier League runners-up agreed to meet his £19.8m release clause.

Bony only arrived at the Liberty Stadium last summer and scored 27 goals in all competitions in the previous campaign. Davies too has been a regular name in the Welsh club's starting lineup since breaking into the first team in 2012 and already has 71 league appearances under his belt.
