Liverpool have unveiled their home kit for 2013/14 season - and the Liver Bird badge, which was introduced to the shirt last year, remains.

Manufacturer Warrior Sports, who replaced former supplier Adidas last season, claim the latest kit is a tribute to Liverpool's European Cup success in 1984, when Anfield was Europe's most fearsome football stronghold.

A red stripe has been added to the sleeves while he Liver Bird badge is coloured yellow, as is the Warrior logo.

The club's official site also released a gallery of images showing a host of players, including captain Steven Gerrard, goalkeeper Pepe Renia, forwards Luiz Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, midfielder Philippe Coutinho and defenders Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger all sporting the new jersey.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes the new kit will be loved by both the players and the fans, as it provides a compelling statement and engenders genuine pride.

"It's distinctly Liverpool which the players and I love. It exceeds what we need it to do technically while also delivering a strong visual statement," Rodgers said.

Fans can pre-order the new kit from the official Liverpool FC online store.
