Liverpool starlet will join AC Milan when his contract at Anfield expires in the summer, the Serie A giants have confirmed.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been relentlessly linked with a move to the Rossoneri, having failed to break into Brendan Rodgers' side.

Suso's agent, Jaume Serra, confirmed to IBTimes UK on Tuesday 6 January that an agreement in principle had been met between the player and club, and Milan have since confirmed via their television channel that the Spaniard has signed a four-year deal, it has been reported.

The attacking midfielder, who has spent the last four-and-a-half years at the Merseyside club, will undergo a medical in the coming weeks and will join up with Filippo Inzaghi's squad at the end of the season.

Suso, who has been beset by a groin injury for much of the season, was called into the Liverpool first team upon Rodgers' appointment in 2012 and initially looked to have a bright future under the Northern Irish manager.

But following a loan spell back in his homeland with Almeria last season, the attacking midfielder has made just one appearance in all competitions in the 2014/15 campaing, paving the way for his move to the San Siro.

The Spaniard's agent claimed Milan were looking into the possibility of bringing Suso to the club during the January transfer window, although there has yet to be any confirmation as to whether the player will leave Merseyside this month.

"We have already reached an agreement with Milan to move to Italy at the end of the season," Serra said.

"Liverpool already know that Suso will not play at Anfield next season but we are considering him to leave him now. It is not easy though. We will see if Liverpool accept."
