Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema may be put up for sale in the summer, according to the Mirror.

Arsenal are likely to be interested as Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of the Frenchman. Manchester United are also keen on joining the chase as they look to rebuild their squad after what has been a disastrous season for the Red Devils.

The striker is expected to be valued at £30m and will be a major swoop for any Premier League club in the market for a world class finisher.

Madrid may also look to offer Benzema on a swap deal to Liverpool to prise out Luis Suarez, who looked disgruntled after missing out on winning the Premier League title with the Reds.

The Frenchman has scored 17 goals this season in the league and assisted eight, a tally which is likely to rise if he comes to Premier League as a focal point for a certain club.

The striker has only one year left on his contract and is likely to be sold than let go on a free transfer the following summer.

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly unhappy with his performance and may persuade president Florentino Perez to listen to offers in the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners are in desperate need of replenishment at the front with Olivier Giroud failing to live up to expectations in an Arsenal shirt.

Benzema, who is likely to make the France World Cup squad with Giroud, will give the Gunners a different option up front with his pace and help the north London club put in a concerted effort for the title next season.
