Practice review

Lorenzo managed to beat Honda rider Marc Marquez to finish Friday's session on top. The defending champion clocked a time of 1:33.328s in Free Practice 1, but was 0.053s short of the Yamaha rider in Free Practice 2.

Marquez's Honda teammate Dani Pedro was fourth in the first session. The Spaniard was successful in improving his position as he finished third in the second session with a time of 1:33.258s.

Championship leader Valentino Rossi did not enjoy great run in both the practice sessions of the San Marino Grand Prix. The Yamaha rider finished sixth and fifth in Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2 respectively.

The Italian will be looking forward to the qualifying session and hoping to take yet another pole in his career. A first-place finish on Saturday will make him a firm favourite to win the race at Misano.
