N-Dubz star Dappy has been arrested and charged with assault after getting into a brawl outside a Essex nightclub.

The rapper, whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos, was taken into police custody following his appearance at the Chicago's Nightclub in Chelmsford.

Essex Police have confirmed that the No Regrets singer is under investigation.

"Costadinos Contostavlos... has been charged with an assault by beating following an incident outside a nightclub... in Chelmsford in the early hours of February 27," a spokesperson told the Mirror.

His latest run-in with the law comes just months after he served 150 hours of community service following his assault conviction for his involvement in a fight at a Surrey petrol station in 2012. He was also given a six-month suspended prison sentence.

It has been an eventful few months for Dappy, who is the cousin of former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

In November, he was rushed to hospital after he was kicked in the face by his horse and earlier this year he took part in Celebrity Big Brother 2014. He was also hit by bankruptcy claims.

But things appeared to be on the up when embarked on a whirlwind romance with fellow CBB star Luisa Zissman, after getting close to the Apprentice 2013 runner-up on the Channel 5 reality show.

"Honestly? We love each other to death. She's sexy," the father-of-two recently told OK! Magazine.
