Adnan Januzaj
Januzaj rejected 'insane' offer from PSG to commit to United.

Adnan Januzaj turned down a "completely insane offer" from Paris Saint Germain before committing his long term future to Manchester United, according to the youngster's agent.

The Belgian starlet has enjoyed a remarkable first campaign at Old Trafford but there was concern over his long term future at the club when it emerged he only had one year remaining on his contract at the start of the season.

A host of clubs across Europe were alerted to the 19-year-old's availability but Januzaj would sign a new contract with United in October which will keep him at the club until 2018.

But his agent has since revealed the extent of how eager PSG were to lure the winger to Parc de Princes as United made him an offer that eclipsed what Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi earned at the same age.

"Minutes before Adnan signed a new deal at Manchester United, PSG offered us an completely insane deal. As Adnan was a free agent at the end of the season, the Qatari were ready to offer anything," Januzaj's agent Dirk De Vries told Belgian publication Voetbalmagazine.

"It could have been interesting from a commercial point of view. But money has never been a deciding factor in his choice.

"I can say Adnan's the best paid youngster in the world. He earns more than Ronaldo and Messi when they were 18. It could have been interesting from a commercial point of view. But money has never been a deciding factor in his choice."

Januzaj's rise this season has been one of the few positives to emerge from what has been a dismal season for United. The teenager recently revealed his decision to represent Belgium at international level after a season of speculation and his national team boss Marc Wilmots has admitted he will consider including the youngster in his final squad of 23 for this summer's World Cup finals in Brazil.
