Lenovo K900 Outperforms Samsung Galaxy S4 in AnTuTu Benchmark

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been the reigning champion across several benchmark tests that were reported recently. Both the Exynos 5 Octa and Snapdragon 600 variants have clearly outscored their rivals in the latest Quadrant and AnTuTu benchmarks. While the former has ruled the high-end smartphones pack with top ranking across all synthetic benchmarks including the Geekbench 2, the latter posed tough competition to its Exynos variant in the AnTuTu benchmark scores that surfaced a week ago.

Until now, there seemed to be no threat to the reigning champion from the rival camp. However, Lenovo's IdeaPhone K900 has signalled its arrival in style with a record-breaking score of 25827 points in AnTuTu, which effectively obliterates the second highest score held by the Snapdragon 600 variant of Samsung's flagship smartphone. The credit for the latest AnTuTu benchmark scores goes to the Russian website: Hi-Tech@Mail.ru.

Despite having outrun the Snapdragon 600 variant of the smartphone, the K900 poses no threat to the Exynos 5 Octa powered Galaxy S4 (boasts more than 27, 000 points in AnTuTu). Nevertheless, the IdeaPhone K900 seems to be a tough proposition against the likes of better known rivals such as Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, LG Optimus Pro and Nexus 4. Given its power-packed hardware at a relatively affordable price, the K900 could easily blow away some of its competitors (especially given the higher selling price of its rivals).

As Android Geeks notes, Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 is powered by the new Intel chip codenamed Atom Clover Trail+ that supports a dual-core 2GHz processor. Though the new Intel processor is claimed to be faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, it is no match for the Exynos 5 Octa powered Galaxy S4. Interestingly, the IdeaPhone K900 features the same PowerCR 544MP3 GPU found on the Galaxy S4 (Exynos 5 Octa variant).

Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 Price and Availability

Although there is still no word on the release date or price details of the K900, it is expected to be launched first in China.
