Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to register their first points in the league as they come into this game on the back of a 45-run loss to Royal Challenger Bangalore on 12 April.
While the batting looked good especially with David Warner smashing his way into form with a 25-ball 58-run knock, their bowling looked flat and listless. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Moises Henriques, Karn Sharma and Ashish Reddy all leaked runs with only Mustafizur Rahman coming good, showing just how valuable he is in the twenty20 format.
Shikhar Dhawan's lack of form is a concern and with Ashish Nehra set to miss two games due to injury, the team management will need to look for a suitable replacement. Abhimanyu Mithun is set to take Nehra's place while Karn Sharma might miss out and be replaced by Barinder Sran.
The Kolkata Knight Riders started well thrashing Delhi by nine wickets, but their last game was disappointing as they lost to Mumbai Indians by six wickets.
The batting is looking good with key players Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell all contributing against Mumbai, but it was the bowlers who had an off day.
All the bowlers leaked runs, with Russell going for 52 off his four overs. It will be interesting to see how the KKR bowlers perform especially in Hyderabad with the surface set to favour the batsmen.
Sunil Narine might finally feature in IPL 2016, with Brad Hogg making way. Morne Morkel is expected to come in for John Hastings who has been a tad expensive so far.
